Well hello to..... well anyone....
I see s few numbers of people reading on here but I am not sure who is actually taking time out of their day to read about a girl who loves movie. I guess to anyone who finds this even a little bit amusing, Thanks and Hello again.
I won't even lie I have a few posts I am behind on so I figured while I had the free time I would write all three of them. They should be too long. This one is really just to say what my plan is for this year and what not. So, lets just get right to that shall we?
About half way through last year I was thinking about all of the other challenges that I have done in the past. The fact that I did a Year of Courage last year makes me nerd out a bit. I love the Wizard of Oz and to do something that reminds me of my favorite character, the Cowardly Lion, I was excited to do it. However, it got me thinking about all of the means of all of the characters, people, and objects, in the film. How, I think in a previous post I said that my Best Picture Challenge was more like "Home" in The Wizard of Oz however, after thinking about it I think I misspoke. Really I think that "Home" is all of the movies that I own. As of now I own 330 on DVD and Digital that is not nearly the number I have seen in my whole life but It's a good basis. The reason that this is more home to be is because:
1. They are at the apartment that I live in.
And
2. These are the movie that not only started my love of classic films but have what helps to make it grow over the years.
So, about half way through last year I was at my best friend's house watching on of the movies on her list that I made for her, I started thinking about not only how I was wrong but how the other challenges that I have done are like other things in The Wizard of Oz. My Year of Review in 2016 was actually my "heart" or the Tinman. I love going to new movies all the time and that whole year was me doing something that I loved. The Best Picture Challenge was "Guidance", or Glinda the Good Witch, it was showing me the best movies ever made and how they have changed and evolved over the year. It showed me what great qualities to look for in new movies. That leads be back to "Home" or Dorothy. All of the movies I own is a crazy number to do in a year. So, I wont' be doing that like that. I think I am just going to watch them at my leisure and then write about them as I go.
However, I do have a challenge for this year. This year I will be talking "Smarts" and representing the Scarecrow. This year I was be doing Books turned into movies. It's going to be a Year of Learning. I have already picked out 12 books that were turned into movies and plan on reading/ watching one a month for the whole year. Some of them I have watched already, others I have not, but I will tell you that of all 12 books I have only attempted to read 1. I never even got half way through the book. I really do love to read but when it comes down to it I love watching better. So, I thought that this would be a good challenge to do, to maybe get myself into a more reading spirit.
The other thing that I am going to be writing about is The List. Most people have a bucket list. Trust me I have one too, but mine is actually written down. I made this list when I was 17 years old, I just turned 27 in December, so I have a lot of stuff on it, and a lot of stuff crossed out. I plan on writing a blog about the stuff that was crossed out already because I want to share and remember. Then I will write as stuff gets crossed off. I don't plan on that being weekly or monthly or anything like that but I will when it happens.
So, for those of you who have made it this far, thank you for staying around. Nothing really has happened much to me in the New Year yet, other than needing a new battery for my car. The first movie I saw in the new year was The Upside, which is amazing, sweet, and hilarious and you should go and see it. I wrote a letter to Tom Hanks to follow up with my Tom Hanks Hustle from last year. The letter hasn't been returned to me yet so I am thinking it got where it needed to go.
As for the rest of the year I think we shall have fun in seeing where it's going to go.
