The Man Behind The Curtain: November

"A woman's dress should be like a barbed wire fence: serving a purpose without obstructing the view."- Sophia Loren

I love this quote. It's one of those quotes that make a lot of sense when you are wearing a dress that you feel so good in that no one can cut you down.

When you find something that you feel like "you" in, it's incredible how it can change everything. Your day, your mood, your confidence. Finding that one thing that you can not help but love, not matter how people look or think of you, is rare and beautiful.

It was wonderful point that Wonder bring home.

Auggie is a boy who was born with facial deformities. Because of this, he has been homeschooled his whole life. Now that he is entering into middle school, his parents that that it's time that he go to normal school. what's not great is that he is going into middle school. He is immediately bullied by one of the most popular kids in the school. However, he does make friends, and start to come out of his shell. While he does have to face more that the everyday person, he soon learns that middle school is hard on everyone.

This movie made me cry. Not that it's a hard thing to do, but this one did. This is a one of those movies that you can tell is special just by watching it. One of the things that I love about Auggie is that he loves space. He love Astronauts and Halloween. It when he is dressing up that he feels just like every other kid. The other kids don't look at him any different than anyone else in a costume. It gives him confidence to be who he wants to be.

That's how I feel about wearing Vintage clothing. I love how I look and feel wearing something that no one else really wears. I love having all of the different accessories, and hats, and jewelry to put together. However, one of the hardest things was wearing them in public without being worried of being judged. Yet, one of the few times that I have ever felt judged was once and it was something that, even wasn't that bad.

I have learned over the year that if you do get made fun of for liking something, or being different, it's because those people having found out what makes them unique. I am just happy that I found one of those things very early in life, and get to love wearing them my whole life long.
