There They Are and There They'll Stay

We are talking about yet another movie that I have not seen, but really should have seen before this: Groundhog Day.

Phil is a man who is grumpy, spoiled, and self centered. He is not used to not getting his way. However, when it is on location for the year Groundhog's Day Festival in Pennsylvania, a place that he does not want to go to, he is forced to relive the same day over and over again. The question is will he continue to be the same man over and over again?

This movie is so cute! I am not sure why I haven't seen it before, but I am really glad that I did. I will for sure be watching this movie over and over again in my lifetime.

To be honest, I forgot which project I was watching this movie for so I forgot that I was supposed to relate it to faith, but I don't think that I could have picked a better way than what Jesus Loves Movies said.

"See! The winter is past; the rains are over and gone. Flowers appear on the earth; the season of singing has come, the cooing of doves is heard in our land" Song of Solomon 2:11-12

How this movie related to faith to that author was living through the mundane. There are season in life where everything seems slow and boring, but God is there to help us through. Most of the days that Phil lives through not not crazy fun days they are the boring ones that don't hold a lot of significant moments but help to build a life.

I will go a step further and say that the crazy seasons of life is where I mess up. The first thing I stop doing is spending time with God. Then I end up feeling bad that He is going to be mad that I stopped so I get scared and don' come to Him. Then I sin, bad, and then feel worse. Then I finally give into the conviction of the Holy Spirit, and come back again. It's a cycle that I don't seem to know how to break. I know that most of it is actually going to bed on time so I can spend time with God and create the consistency. Or in other words, create that mundane.

Mundane is not bad, it's actually very helpful. Mundane is where life is mostly remembered and created.
