Newt Scamander is a young wizard who has spent most of his life studying Magical Beasts. When his studies bring him to New York he gets himself into trouble. When his beast escape and a no-maj sees, Newt must save his beasts, his new friends, and the Big Apple from danger.
Just like most people on the planet, I loved the Harry Potter books and movies. I was kind of worried when I heard about this film because it's risky business to expand on a story once it's already concluded. However, this just such a great job that you forgot about the Harry Potter story. Eddie Redmayne is so good in this role that I could not think of anyone else better for the job. What I think that I loved most about the story was the fact that we get to see a movie about someone who has already found their purpose. With the Harry Potter books/movies you are watching them not only fulfill a destiny but find what their purpose is for their life after the danger. With Newt he didn't have to fulfill a destiny and he found that his purpose was the study and protection of magical beasts. So, I loved seeing a character in a role where an adventure finds him and he saves the day because it deals with what he loves to do for a living. Rather than trying to become into the person he needs to be to be or a hero.

Hacksaw Ridge
Release Date: November 4, 2016
Starring: Andrew Garfield as Desmond Doss
Teresa Palmer as Dorothy Schutte
Vince Vaughn as Sgt. Howell
Luke Pegler as Hollywood Zane
Directed by: Mel Gibson
Written by: Robert Schenkkan and Andrew Knight
The story of Desmond Doss, and his journey to become a medic as an observant objector in World War II. During the battle at Hacksaw Ridge he saved the lives of 75 people by himself and earned him The Congressional Medal of Honor. However, his story is not one of reluctance it's one of resilience. Doss made an oath to God that he would never pick up a weapon and kill anybody. So, when he volunteers for the war he knows that he faces ridicule, hardship, and possibly jail time as he shows everyone that he is not going into battle with any weapons.
This is THE BEST picture of the year. I can not say enough good thing about this film. There are not a whole lot of films that have every been created that I could say I would not change something about. This is one of the handful of films that I can say that this is a near perfect film. There is nothing I would change even if I had the chance too. Every cast member, every note in the music, every visual and sound effect was epically crafted into the film that we see today.

Boo! A Madea Halloween
Release Date: October 21, 2016
Starring: Tyler Perry as Madea/Joe/Brian
Cassie Davis as Aunt Barn
Bella Thorne as Rain
Diamond White as Tiffany
When Tiffany won't stop being defiant by going over to the fraternity house, Brian is worried that her daughter is going to get in trouble. So, when he hears that the frat house is going to have a Halloween party while he is out of town he calls his Aunt Madea to watch her. When Madea shuts down the party the fraternity seeks revenge on Madea and tries to scare her back to her own home.
This has to be one of the Madea Movies to come out. However, it's a little bit more on the risky side. It seem to be a little bit more for entertainment instead of a life lesson movie. However, you don't really care because when you get Madea around clowns the whole thing turns chaotic and funny. It's a really good Halloween film for someone who does not enjoy scary movies.. like myself.

Denial
Release Date: September 30, 2016
Starring: Rachel Weisz as Deborah Lipstadt
Tom Wilkinson as Richard Rampton
Directed by: Mick Jackson
Written by: David Hare based off the book "History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier" by Deborah Lipstadt
In 1995 the world witnessed on of the most interesting trials of all time. It dealt with murder, hatred, and unspeakably horrible situation ever to happen in human history. However, it was not the people that demonstrated these acts that is one trail. The trial was between Deborah Lipstadt, a professor and author of the Holocaust, and David Irving, an author and Holocaust denier. The charges are against Lipstadt for Libel because she "publicly discredited him and hurt his reputation" but to prove her right to win the case she must prove that the Holocaust did happen.
One of the most in depth and fascinating movies of the whole year. Again, it's one of those movies that has come out this year that is based off a true story and I am wondering why we didn't learn about it in school. Typically when there is a trial, the trial becomes history, in this film History is literally on trial. I think that the thought process behind winning the case was insightful, and the facts that are presented about the Holocaust, are truly heartbreaking. It's a movie that give your hope for humanity.

Aja Naomi King as Cherry
Armie Hammer and Samuel Turner

However, as Nat is going around to these other places he see how other's a being treated poorly. That's when he starts to preach differently and starts an uprising against the slave owners.
This is another great example of a story that we never learned in history class. There are so many of these stories in history, that help us with the facts, that we aren't learning about. Nate Parker was fantastic in this film. He really put everything he has into this role and I was very impressed.

I loved the film. I loved that it's a film about how if you put your mind to anything that anyone can accomplish it. I loved that the story, how they showed her hard work and the insecurities that come with reaching your dreams. Lupita Nyong'o's performance was brilliant and so was David Oyelowo.
